Student participants experience a real-world project, hands-on learning, and a professional externship with the firm. Island Design Assembly brings together a team of students and architects for eight intensive days to live off-the-grid while designing and building a project for an island community in Penobscot Bay, Maine. The program is open to students from all colleges and universities, and no experience with design or construction is necessary. Traditional and non-traditional students from all college majors and all political, socioeconomic, ethnic, and racial backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
